Support Us

Our single biggest source of income comes from ticket sales so one of the best ways to support us is simply by coming to our concerts. As a registered charity, however, we greatly appreciate any additional form of financial assistance that you can give. This helps to secure our long-term viability and allows us to continue booking top-class artists.

Businesses & Charities

If your business or another charity in which you are involved would be willing to help us financially, then we’d love to hear from you. Please email us or speak to a committee member on a concert night. We are happy to acknowledge your support in all our printed publicity materials and through social media (or allow you to remain anonymous if preferred).

Private Patrons' Gifts

There are a number of ways for individual patrons to make a donation:

  • Bank transfer to 'Skipton Music Society', account number 60098442, sort code 20-78-42, Barclays Bank, Skipton Branch (please mark payment as 'gift from (...) [your name]');
  • Cash or cheque payment to our Treasurer on a concert night (cheques payable to 'Skipton Music Society');
  • Additional voluntary contribution when purchasing your season ticket(s) at the Town Hall Box Office (suggested donation: £25, £50 or £100).

If you do make a donation in any of the above ways and you are a UK tax payer, please be sure to complete a Gift Aid declaration (available at the ticket desk on concert nights). Please also let us know if you would like your gift to be formally acknowledged in our publicity materials or if you prefer to remain anonymous.

Legacies

Over the years our charity has been the grateful recipient of a number of legacies. If you are considering leaving a legacy to Skipton Music, we would always recommend that you speak to a solicitor when writing or amending your will. However, here is a suggested wording:

"I give the sum of [amount in words] (£______ [amount in figures]) to the Board of Trustees of Skipton Music Society absolutely for its general charitable purposes. My Trustees shall have no further duties relating to this benefit if they obtain the written receipt from the treasurer or other appropriate officer of Skipton Music Society."

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your kind and continued support.
