The Zemlinsky Trio — comprising clarinettist Peter Cigleris, cellist Evva Mizerska, and pianist Emma Abbate — is a dynamic chamber ensemble known for its expressive performances and wide-ranging repertoire spanning the classical canon and contemporary British music.
Peter Cigleris is one of the UK's most sought-after clarinettists, praised by Gramophone as "the pick" among his peers. A passionate champion of English music, he has given world premiere recordings of British clarinet concertos with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and performed internationally across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Evva Mizerska, named a "rising star" by The Strad, is an award-winning Polish-born cellist based in London. A First Prize winner at the International Leoš Janáček Competition, she has performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room and at festivals across the UK and Europe and has recorded extensively for Toccata Classics.
Emma Abbate is described as "an amazingly talented pianist" by Musica and enjoys a distinguished career as accompanist and chamber musician. A professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and staff coach at the Royal Opera House, she has performed at Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre, and the Aldeburgh Festival, among many others.
Together, the trio is currently preparing a recording of British chamber music including newly commissioned works.
