The American, Ward Swingle, formed this a cappella group in Paris in the mid 60s. The original group continued until 1974 and then Ward Swingle came to England to establish another Swingle ensemble. The present octet are all young graduates from music colleges and are fine singers in their own right. They are appearing at the Proms in London later this year which should give them welcome exposure in the UK following their huge international success.
